A Truth Journal: Heckled First Lady Michelle Obama: Accused As Angry Black Woman? Come On; Really?

A Truth Journal: Heckled First Lady Michelle Obama: Accused As Angry Black Woman? Come On; Really?: From Denny:  Now First Lady Michelle Obama is accused of being the archetypal "angry black woman" for daring to stare down and get in the face of an inept protester who just thought the First Lady would tolerate her rudeness. Where do people get these ideas about how this was a racist heckling incident with white entitlement overtones?

Well, never to be a shrinking violet from controversy on my blog, let's start with the "angry black woman" stereotype...

The Social Poets: New York Times Un-American To Criticize Olympics Athlete Lolo Jones Before Race

The Social Poets: New York Times Un-American To Criticize Olympics Athlete Lolo Jones Before Race: From Denny:  Now we enter the den of The Media Stupid, courtesy of the compromised New York Times. There seems to be a rather nasty bunch of writers over there these days, a sharp detour away from the stable of interesting intellectuals they once sported.

The current group has too many members who are all about plagiarizing letters to the editor (like what happened to me one too many times so I quit reading them years ago, then started up my own pack of blogs as a copyrighted version of letters to the editor.  Hey, it works for me.)

Their other favorite tactic now is ripping an Olympic athlete just days before competition.  How un-American can you get to criticize any athlete representing your country just before competition?

Poems From A Spiritual Heart: Primordial Dragon

Poems From A Spiritual Heart: Primordial Dragon: From Denny: What is it with humanity's fascination with winged beings, be they angel or dragon? In an online writing group there was a challenge to write about dragons. What fun! Everyone wrote about dragons as evil vicious beasts as from the Western mythology.

Well, I spent most of my high school in Asia where the mythology is far different, Chinese mythology, that is. Come on; it seemed every time I turned around there was a street festival with the lion and dragon dances performed for good luck and prosperity!

What Do You Feel About Love?

*** View today: 16,974 and Thank You!

*** Do you have your own personal definition of Love?

From Denny: It seems throughout the centuries humanity has tried to define Love. We write about how we think about Love. We speak about how we feel about Love. What seems so certain for some is also elusive for others. Yet the fascination remains.

This quote is interesting because within two small short lines it encompasses the concept of eternity and infinity. Too often our concept of Love is taught to us by society and popular culture instead of by our own experiences, feelings and thoughts.

Sometimes, Love isn't about finding but rather about discovering. The discovering comes from when we make a commitment to build our relationship with that person. It's then the Love unfolds like a beautiful flower and reveals itself.

How Does Change Crash Into Our Lives to Build Anew?

*** Why do the confident among us find it easy to embrace change?

From Denny: Have you ever thought about the concept of change as just a neutral subject? Hard to do for us human types, isn't it? :)

The spiritual energy of change is much like a car. It is neither good nor bad but rather it is who is at the driving wheel that determines our destination. How we drive our "vehicle of change" is determined solely by our attitude and world outlook.

That's why it's important to purposefully focus upon positive events and remembrances in our personal experiences. The negative will easily be remembered. The problem of those negative experiences is that it speaks to holding onto and recycling negative dark energy for too long. That practice causes terrible imbalance in us.

Holding and caressing positive beautiful energy only seeks to energize us with more Life and Hope. So, when change comes into our lives - and it surely will - it is easier to be flexible and adapt purposefully in a fulfilling way that brings us happiness.

Quote

* Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind. To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better. - James Gordon, M.D.

Falling in love again: A poem about opening yourself up to love

Falling in love again: A poem about opening yourself up to love

by alekhouse @ HubPages

From Denny:

Since yesterday was my birthday I thought I'd mellow out on the early AM posting today... :)

Here's the comment I left on her page - What a beautiful piece, loved it! And such good encouragement to others to dare, one more time, in spite of feeling burned out emotionally, to love once again, discovering they can now rest in the loving. Thank you for the word treat! Blogging this on over to my poetry blog for everyone else to enjoy too! Thank you for writing it.

Women and the taboo

From Denny: Oscar Wilde was one cheeky quote kind of guy, always amusing when speaking the truth in his unique way. Take a look and grin, especially the women out there!

"Women have a much better time than men in this world; there are far more things forbidden to them." - Oscar Wilde
