Best Spiritual Posts: Christmas Music: Susan Boyle Sings "Miracle Hymn" From Movie "The Christmas Candle": From Denny: The Christmas season is a time for reflection upon what we thought was the impossible to even dare to dream entering the realm of the possible and becoming our new reality. We call that a miracle because it is so very rare! If ever there was a story to illustrate the impossible becoming the possible it's the story of singer Susan Boyle's meteoric rise to fame. She has recently been diagnosed with autism as an adult. While it's been a rocky road for her she has been creating her life balance and is doing well.

Poems From A Spiritual Heart: Snowing The Perfect Balance: From Denny: The morning was so very perfect, enjoying the falling snow, cuddling into the silence snow brings, that it brought out a snow poem that I combined with the idea of how our perceptions affect our sense of Time.

Best Spiritual Posts: Music: Amazing Grace By Hayley Westenra: From Denny: It's always refreshing to see what the newest generation does with a traditional standard, especially the Christian ones. Hayley Westenra performs her wonderful rendition of a difficult song to sing, both emotionally and artistically.
His voice has a soothing peaceful quality. He has certainly studied his share of the world's religions and it is that knowledge and understanding that brings a richness to his music.
From his album, "The Birth Of Jesus" recorded with the National Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra of London, the Ambrosian Men's Choir, and the Junior Boys Choir of Desborough School.
Best Spiritual Posts: Music: Oh, Rejoice By Hillsong: From Denny: While my husband was dashing into a convenience store to pick up a few items I was waiting in the car, seeking on the radio stations. I landed on one talk show where a man was discussing the Christmas season shopping frenzy - and often violence - that breaks out when people fight for the best deals.
It's like the Christmas holiday season has been reduced down to this greedy fever pitch shopping season. Big Business has clearly hijacked what should be a holy season. The essayist continued saying how business changes their cashier greeting (Walmart) to try and sound like they are dispensing goodwill as if that will suddenly cement a good relationship with the customer, making up for the rest of the year.
Well, it should be a goodwill season. During this time of year, he said, you often see strangers relax a little and make more of an effort. But here's the real question, Did Jesus really come just to make our December's better or did He come to make our entire lives better?
Then the program featured this song and I smiled as my husband put the groceries in the car and we drove back home listening to the reason for the season.
Dennys: News Politics Comedy Science Arts & Food: Posts Roundup at Dennys Blogs - 17 Nov 2011: From Denny: Check out blog posts on photography, arts, food, news, politics, a huge amount of humor - especially the political pundits, poetry, astronomy, quotes, music, spiritual and just about anything else that catches my eclectic interest. Can you tell that 140 characters just doesn't work for me? :)
The last posts roundup I did was back in June and we sure are overdue like a long pregnancy. Be sure to bookmark this post as you will enjoy endless hours of laughing while you absorb some good information.
Most of the blog posts are at my flagship blog that spun off into the other 20, The Social Poets, where the news crashes into humor. I even manage to write a few in-depth news posts, slicing and dicing the BS that passes for truth these days on the airwaves.
And to think I do all this in my spare time... Hope you enjoy!
From Denny: Lately, so much has been happening at a dizzying pace, especially the difficulty of the chaotic economy and harrowing jobs situation for millions of people worldwide.
When turbulent times are upon us it can sure cause us to think about the many wonderful friends we've enjoyed over the years. Many are in other countries now, some passed away young, others are in turmoil from divorce or other trauma. Many others have raised families, wondering what to do with the rest of their lives.
I've certainly had my fair share of interesting friends in my life. There were those to whom I was a better friend to them than they were to me. The reverse is true of those who were much older - and definitely wiser - who helped guide me when I needed it most - that I was not the friend I wished I had been for them at that point in time. But mentors know and accept that truth. They get their laugh when it's your turn to mentor and the process starts all over again. :)
These interesting heartfelt quotes are certainly an eclectic check list to assess if you are being the kind of friend you desire to be to others. And it might be eye-opening to assess if others are being the kind of friend you need right now too.
Friendships are rarely equal, especially if they continue for many years. So many things can bring us together and bind our hearts so tightly we can never imagine our lives without those special inspiring people.
The perfect friend can comfort us when we are in need, help us through a rough patch for months at a time when life tests us. Most of all they bring us the joy of their good company! Think about your friends today and take the time to remind them how you appreciate them.
Dennys: News Politics Comedy Science Arts & Food: Posts Roundup at Dennys Blogs - 12 June 2011: "From Denny: Check out what has been happening in the world of news, comedy, food, poetry, photography, art, music and more. In the past month a whirlwind of news occurred. World terrorist Osama bin Laden was hunted down and killed in a resort town in Pakistan where he had been hiding for the past six years. Supposedly, the Pakistanis were unaware of his presence there. Yeah? And I've got some swamp land in Louisiana to sell you too.
President Obama got a nice bump in approval ratings for about a week and then that fizzled as he resumed his usual do-nothing stance on the economy. Obama also continued with poisonous politics aimed at his own Democrats, throwing them all under the bus in favor of Big Business."
Poems From A Spiritual Heart: Levels: "A poem inspired from the devastating earthquake in Japan. It speaks to how all of us can experience earth-shattering moments, internally or externally, and learn to begin again."
From Denny: Women know best. :) And the old ladies really know best. At least that's what researchers discovered when they blasted the roar of a male lion out onto the plain where a herd of elephants were gathered.
The 66 year old female, Joyce, took matters into hand and packed everyone into a tighter group, assuring greater protection for the youngest. Since she is too old to bear any more babies, researchers think that the older elephants pay more attention to group safety.
Well, at least this family group listens to Grandma. Grandma saved the day. Maybe we all need to start listening to more of our own grandmothers. They just might have some long life experience and wisdom to pass along that could keep us safe.

Why the same people are in charge of this mess that created the mess is a mystery. It's as foolish as it was to trust BP to clean up the oil spill disaster in my own Gulf of Mexico. Serious hardships still exist as a result of President Obama and BP refusing to do what it takes to make things right, especially in Louisiana.
At the very least the President could do is refuse to allow BP access to any of America's oil fields on or off shore. The company has simply not earned the right to drill for oil on American soil or in our oceans."
From Denny: How often do we need to get away from our present environment just to get a different perspective? We take holidays away from work and feel refreshed when we return. We enjoy seasonal holidays for a different turn of mind and feelings. We celebrate a special moment like a birthday, an anniversary, a special occasion.
When we turn our attention away from the "group think" into a smaller group think like family or friends, instead of the work environment or society at large, we get a chance to examine our priorities, wants and needs.
Solitude taken to the level of just spending time with the inner self takes our reflection to the deepest level of contemplation and consideration. That is when it becomes crystal clear what is bubbling up into our thoughts arises from our authentic self.
Take some time today to separate your authentic self from the crowd - and listen to your heart. You have a wonderful message to speak.

How is our life affected by our perceptions and which perception helps us bring everything into balance?
From Denny: The morning was so very perfect, enjoying the falling snow, cuddling into the silence snow brings, that it brought out a snow poem that I combined with the idea of how our perceptions affect our sense of Time. Sometimes, Time seems too slow when we are impatient; sometimes it goes too fast when we are afraid. Other moments we miss because of how we angle our emotions of frustration or sadness or even joy into our perception of how Time flows in our lives. This is my contribution to Valentine's Day. Read on to see why this is a poem about Love.
When you need some inspiration to lift your spirits or soothe your nerves during the holiday rush.
From Denny: I still remember the first time I heard this song and it sure sent chills up my spine. It was Kathy Matea who sang it. Her wonderful video is "disabled by request" probably for the holiday season to drive sales.
This song is one of those songs that sticks in your mind and heart. It speaks to the wonder of what it must have been like to be the mother of Jesus. Legend has it that Mary and Joseph were both Essenes who had been prepared for this unusual task to parent a truly old soul. What an understatement.
The legends also tell that the Essenes had waited for centuries for this moment. How did they prepare? The legend goes that the Essenes carefully chose members of the line of King David as it was believed they carried the spiritual anointing. Every year young maidens ascended the stairs to where an angel visited who would make the choice. One year it was Mary who was chosen by the hand of God - and the powerful anointing descended upon her, never to leave. She knew her possible destiny from a young age and was mentally ready to assume her role for humanity. This song speaks to the wonder of what Mary may have felt and thought during the time of her pregnancy. We may never know her private thoughts as there is yet to be seen any historical record found - but the musicians and songwriters sure can speculate.

When you need some inspiration to lift your spirits or soothe your nerves during the holiday rush.
From Denny: This Christmas story is a real tear jerker so pull out the tissues to dab your eyes. It's even more so when you think of friends and family who have passed away from cancer during the holiday season. This story also tells of the strong spirit of giving from a little child that so inspires us all. Sometimes, as an adult we need to be reminded of the simple things and prioritize what truly matters. It's easy to get side-tracked with responsibilities, problems that arise and the hectic schedule of life. A song like this brings us back to the core importance of Life: loving unconditionally. This version is performed by Newsong.

When you need some inspiration to lift your spirits or soothe your nerves during the holiday rush.
Here are the lyrics to the song written by Diane Warren and produced by David Foster. This version is sung by Filipina pop singer Charice:
Note To God
If I wrote a note to God
I would speak whats in my soul
I’d ask for all the hate to be swept away
For love to overflow
If I wrote a note to God
I’d pour my heart out on each page
I’d ask for war to end
For peace to mend this world
I’d say, I’d say, I’d say
Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love cause love is over due
And it seems like so much is goin wrong
On this road…… we’re on
If I wrote a note to God
I’d say please help us find our way
End all the bitterness
Put some tenderness in our hearts
And I’d say, I’d say, I’d say
Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love cause love is over due
And it looks like we haven’t got a clue
Need some help from you
Grant us the faith to carry on
Give us hope when it seems all hope is gone
Cause it seems like so much is goin wrong
On this road we’re on
No, no no no
We can’t do this on our own
So
Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love cause love is over due
And it looks like we haven’t got a clue
Need some help from you
Grant us the faith to carry on
Give us hope when it seems all hope is gone
Cause it seems like so much is goin wrong
On this road we’re on
No, no no no
We can’t do this on our own
So, So
If I wrote a note to God
This version is as she sung it on The Oprah Winfrey Show
