Numerology: Whats So Unusual About The Date 10-10-2010?

Check out some fun facts about the numberology of special dates and the month of October.

From Denny: Numerology. It holds our fascination, peaks our interest and captures our curiosity. This year held a special date of 10 October 2010 or "10-10-2010." British numerologist, Glynis McCants, explains the significance of this year's number and why people have flocked to it for a marriage date.

Numerology is a simple addition and subtraction process. You take the date of "10-10-2010" and add each number: 1+0+1+0+2+0+1+0 = 5. Now the number "5" is considered the number of celebration so you can easily see why it is a favorite date for weddings. It's also considered the number of something extra added to the situation which usually is about extra blessings and/or luck.

No. 10

Glynis tells us that this year's special day is significant because of the occurrence of three "1's" and three "0's." The number one represents ambition in your life. The number one helps us to feel motivated to act. Glynis suggests we take time this month of October, and on the special day of "ten" or "one" to make a list of whatever it is we wish to accomplish during this time.

The number zero encourages divine intuition. What this number calls attention to is to trust your gut level instinct and follow it. Don't allow doubt or the advice of others to override what on the intuitive level you know is wiser, smarter or better timing.

Intuition is my strongest characteristic.  Developing it took time and adversity.  From the time I was a small child people were always challenging me on this, pushing hard to get me off my game. Whenever I pushed back and followed what I knew instinctively was correct things always worked out perfectly. At any time when I allowed anyone to bully me into their way things always went terribly wrong - I mean really disastrously bad.

Follow your intuitive level first, foremost and always - even if you don't quite understand the reasoning for doing so at the time.  In a few days, weeks, months or even years it will finally be revealed as to why that course of action your intuition suggested was wise.

Ignore the Boo-Birds and naysayers. They are always wrong. Besides, it's your life, not theirs. Following your intuitive level is your spirit and Spirit working to guide you through the labyrinth of life. Spirit knows the perils and pitfalls and the perfect path through life; let Spirit lead you.

Glynis also talked a bit about how each month of the year has its own special number. The number ten for October is about taking stock of your year. It's not too late to focus upon what you desire to achieve for the year. October is the month for moving forward in your life.

Inspiring Quotes About Dealing With Rejection

Some great advice from famous people about handling rejection.

From Denny: Have you ever considered that rejection can help you grow your inner garden? Hard to believe sometimes, especially when the acceptance meant so much to you. Time and again throughout Life I've found that my Rejection Angel was hard at work, leaving me perplexed at best.

Spirit often protects us through the process of situations or people rejecting us. It isn't a lot of fun the first few times it happens. It takes a while to quiet the turbulent emotions that accompany rejection to get our thinking clear to see the wisdom of The Why. Often, The Why is not yet evident and so we must wait for the answer to reveal itself. Be patient and let it evolve in your life. There will be that one day when it all crystallizes for you and you realize from what you were protected. The sting of rejection at the time was far preferable to the gruesome consequences to follow later - if you insisted upon pursuing that course.

Also, early in our spiritual development we are enthusiastic to share with others our bliss, our knowledge and awareness gained. Yet we can experience dreadful rejection from trying to do so. Many times this is because we have not yet developed the ability to easily follow Spirit.

We tend to take the generous shotgun approach and blast people with all we want to give without realizing that Spirit did not yet prepare them for our approach. Baby Christians, who are still carnal Christians, often do this. Take your time and develop into a spiritual person who is spiritual because they have learned the discipline of how to follow Spirit effectively. The body, mind and soul are all in alignment with the Spirit of God.

Too often the churches preach to go out and witness, teaching people to go browbeat every stranger's door upon which they knock. That isn't the meaning of the word "witness." To be a witness is to live it so fully that you are aware every moment of your connection to the Spirit of God. It isn't just when you are in a gathering of like-minded people at church once or twice a week. That strong vibrant connection never fades, even when you are alone or in a spiritual test, and is full of comfort, joy and purpose.  Going out to witness is most about allowing others to witness you in your connection to God. It's a wordless connection that can only be felt by the person's spirit.

Many of these quotes are from people who are actors and writers, both fields of tremendous competition and difficulty. Rejection is constant in these professions, even when a person is accomplished and well experienced. Talk about develop mental toughness!  These quotes will help ease that sting of rejection when you do experience it - and some will make you laugh.

11 Inspiring Quotes and Poem About Dealing With Rejection

on Glasses and it's Contents...

Check out this mind food when you need to pick yourself back up from rejection.

From Denny:  Rejection is one of the toughest situations people do to each other. It's inevitable. You don't get that job. You don't attract that person for romance. Even the family dog doesn't want to know you some days. Bad days happen and happen for a reason. Look at it this way. It sure makes those good times we experience that much sweeter because we have a stark comparison against which to measure it.

Like anything, Life gets easier if we take the time to reflect upon disappointments and rejection - but in a positive way. I was reminded recently of some people who rejected me when in college, though I accepted them wholeheartedly. Yet, all these years later it is just now these fellow women have realized they were being petty and insecure.

While I was sad at the time about what appeared to be rejection for no good reason it was these years later they revealed to me why they did what they did. Turns out it was jealousy, fear and insecurity. They had put me up on some imaginary inner plateau, assuming I was something I wasn't.

The short explanation is they really didn't have good people skills and could not "read" people well to properly assess my offer of friendship. Today they regret their rejection of the many good people in their lives, a pattern they found themselves repeating far too often. They now realize the source of their terrible unhappiness for so many years is because they rejected the good people capable of long term friendships in favor of the shallow mean-spirited people who later abandoned them to rejection.

I've always been blessed with an uncommon ability to see into people's hearts. I saw the best in them; I saw their talents long before they did. I also knew they had low self-esteem and the chances were high they would reject the friendship. I offered it anyway to give them the opportunity of choice and decision.

Lately, on the web, I've been running across many sites where people have been lamenting rejection, stuck as how to deal effectively with it. Their pain was palpable, weeping on the surface and interfering with living day to day. So, I sat down and thought a while about it and wrote a poem. There are also several favorite quotes listed about how famous people have learned how to rethink rejection and benefit from it.

Even God has a sense of humor about how to handle repeated rejection. Take a look.

Turning Up Roses

Poem From God

How many times have you lamented the experience of constant rejections in life?
How many times have you dreaded getting up in the morning to face more rejection?
Writers, artists, actors, sales and customer service people intimately know rejection.
So do the unemployed know rejection, especially those without jobs for months, years.

The Deepest Pain = Layers

Do you ever sit down in an emotional puddle and roll in the misery of getting rejected?
“Who hasn’t?” would be a more accurate question. Everyone has visited the Pity Party.
People advise you to “Get over it!” but you can’t seem to pull yourself out of the dark pit.
Others tell you to quit being so sensitive but the hurt of rejection lingers with a stench.

You wonder to yourself how to deal effectively with the sting of repeated rejection?
It’s good to look at rejection from a completely different perspective: God’s.
How does the Creator of the Universe deal with repeated rejection? What’s His take?
God has a great sense of humor, for, after all, we are made in His Image, right?

on Glasses and it's Contents...

One day I sat down to listen to what God had to say about dealing with rejection.
And God said, “Do you think I don’t know rejection? Every day I go to work.
“Half the people on this planet wake up refusing to have anything to do with Me.
“I go to work anyway. The song of Love calls to their hearts and I await their answer.”

From Denny: All this weekend - and early this week - I've had the usual case of "Fall Fever." Who really wants to stay inside after a dreadful summer of weirdly high heat and humidity? When Louisiana weather calms down to cooler temperatures at night and low humidity during the day it's, well, irresistible. And the blogging just had to wait this weekend.

It was also a case of cleaning up all the overgrown "everything" in the flower beds since it's been several months - when it was so hot and humid medical professionals were telling everyone it was too hard on your heart to be out in the heat doing hard workouts.

Anyway, my crazy plants thank you for your patience. They now have newly planted homes since there were so many of them multiplying they had to move out from their parents' homes and into new places in the yard. Purple irises love to spread the love.

Chocolate Mint has pink trumpet flowers Photo by Denny Lyon

The party down plants are the chocolate mint. They are indestructible - whether it's flooding rain waters or drought - these crazy plants just keep on thriving! I'm wondering if they are the comedians of the plant kingdom.

What's nice about chocolate mint is that hummingbirds love them as much as those fat bumblebees. When pollinating insects were rare the past couple of years, well, it must have been because they were all partying over in my yard.

Try crushing the leaves of the chocolate mint in your hands and you get this light chocolate scent wafting up into the breeze along with a faint mint companion. You can even cut back chocolate mint and treat it like a low growing shrub or let it go hog wild and it looks like a two foot tall grass. Definitely a cool plant.

I've come to the conclusion that all artists must be gardeners. It's just such an irresistible canvas to play with and shift and change at will. Of course, the mud factor is definitely appealing too. :)

Included here are links from the past couple of weeks and some popular posts too - especially recipes. Lots of humor to keep you de-stressed and laughing!  Make sure to check out the new convenient Google Blogger gadgets on the blogs that feature the most recent posts and the most popular posts.

A Delightful Way Of Seeing Our Lives

Have you thought about how to impact the lives of others positively? It's so simple and easy to do.

From Denny: When was the last time you invited others to share your life, that everyday good moment?

This sweet photo of a baby elephant with its parents is adorable. How many times have you invited others to visit you - and then introduced a friend or a child to them because you knew it would be a positive impact upon both of them? It's like the idea of "paying it forward" just keeps moving on, creating goodness and happiness with every person touched.

Your life becomes what - and who - you cultivate.  Is it a sweet garden full of unending delights?

Won't you come into the garden? I would like my roses to see you. - Richard Brinsley Sheridan

How Do You Fit Into The Universe?

A simple spiritual technique to help train the ego effortlessly.

Our Life Perspective

From Denny: This quote can be received several ways. It can be seen from the point of view of how to keep your perspective is to consider something larger than just yourself. Just look up at the night sky and the massive universe several times a week and you will have no problem understanding your small size of importance. Talk about a sobering "ego check." :)

Technique for gaining spiritual discipline

So many people think spiritual development is about talking bad about yourself in order to create self-discipline. I've never bought into that kind of self-defeating mindset. Rather, when you practice regular routines like wordless star-gazing, it slowly calms the ego and trains it to see differently. It's a pleasant discipline to cultivate and works quite well to help you keep your balance in life. And it's just so simple. The fall sky is incredibly beautiful as we just had the Harvest Moon occuring on the Fall Solstice this year - a rare event that happens about every 20 years.

Moving physically helps change our perspective

Take a look at this quote as well from another angle. When you are experiencing adversity - be it job loss, divorce, death of a partner - it's helpful to stop all the helter skelter emotions by literally getting up from the couch and walk outside to improve your perspective. It's amazing how moving the physical body can do wonders for helping you to change your mental or emotional outlook.

How you fit into the universe

While this quote was most likely aimed at the arrogant or the self-centered it is useful to remove all self-condemnation to come into the awareness of how you fit in the universe. You will never discover that connectedness if you focus upon where you are not going rather than enjoying Life right where you are right now. Right now is becoming the future. Isn't it so much better to greet the future with a smile?
