The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Mocks The Trayvon Martin Hoodie Threat: From Denny:  Jon Stewart lampoons hoodie wearing supportive journalists and politicians trying to join the trending and popular national conversation demanding a proper investigation into the tragic death of Trayvon Martin, a young black man deemed suspicious as he walked through a neighborhood wearing a hoodie.  Amazingly, without the public outcry and national pressure, the police had no intention of investigating the crime.

Dennys Global Politics: Is Rush Limbaugh Rhetoric Reason for Violence Against Women In Military?: From Denny: In another version of stupid, the Pentagon continues to air the Rush Limbaugh Show, refusing to cancel it, insulting American women in and out of uniform. Pentagon press secretary, George Little, sees no reason why the American Forces Network should stop broadcasting Rush Limbaugh's show.

Little claims the show is popular with service members and that there is no plan to review that decision. Because this incendiary crap is popular you refuse to get rid of it? It's no wonder the Afghans are so furious with your insensitivity.

You see, it is apparently the Defense Department's policy to broadcast shows that "reflect a wide range of opinion." So, I guess they should consider giving air time to the Ku Klux Klan? How is this situation any different than inciting violence against blacks? Hey, let's give air time to The Taliban. I'm sure there are plenty of service members who want to hear from their warped point of view too.

Dennys Global Politics: Egypt: Humiliating Virginity Tests Performed On Female Protesters

Dennys Global Politics: Egypt: Humiliating Virginity Tests Performed On Female Protesters: "From Denny: It turns out the Egyptian peoples' hope that the Egyptian Army would be an honest and respectful government broker is an illusion as this country transitions to a democracy Middle Eastern style.

Early on as the protesters agreed to talks with the Egyptian Army to take over as a transitional government it was the protesters who sidelined women and women's rights. That's when they lost this blogger as an advocate for I saw it as just more of the same cultural garbage women are expected to tolerate, especially in the Middle East.

Now more ugly news out of the Arab world. Is it any surprise that women are yet again treated to more degrading acts of cruelty and humiliation? I am very disappointed in this protest movement. What good is freedom if you hold captive over half of your population, declaring them unfit for leadership or the rights to make their own decisions?"
